These are typically found in wines that have had a significant fermentation time and wines that have been allowed to settle, rather than go through a filtering process. These chemicals is said to prevent clogged arteries, reduce high blood pressure and cholesterol.

But then, Corder warns that you should not pick up The Red Wine diet if you're looking for an overnight weight fix. The Red Wine Diet offers a gradual and holistic approach to living a longer, healthier life - where weight loss is one of the many benefits over time. So, toss to red wine.
